THE YAGUATENSE, NATIONAL - Met Tuesday the thirteenth anniversary of the death of Dr. Jose Francisco Pena Gomez, who died on May 10, 1998 at the age 61.

The late leader of the Partido Revolucionario Dominicano (PRD), suffered from pancreatic cancer since 1994 that began the symptoms that afflicted the greatest leader of all time. But the disease relented after treatment in the United States. Later, the cancer reappeared, and Pena Gomez spent most of the rest of his life shuttling between Santo Domingo and New York, where he underwent medical treatment.
